EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a SMT Process Engineer with our Hughes Network Services division. This position will be located at our manufacturing plant in Gaithersburg, MD / Germantown, MD.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Work with business and production design teams to formulate a manufacturing process for new products
• Manage multi-shift production operations to meet daily schedules
• Work with managers and supervisors to improve processes for Surface Mount Technology and Box Build Departments
• Collaborate with equipment designers and manufacturing to develop a cost-effective process for new products
• Set detailed specifications and implement production plans
• Conduct system tests to verify efficiency, accuracy, and production process success
• Oversee process design and project timelines
• Maintain financial budgets
• Improve manufacturing and production processes to increase productivity
• Research and purchase new manufacturing technology
• Implement and transition new technology successfully

Basic Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with SAP preferred
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Previous experience working in an electronic manufacturing facility
