Senior Java Developer

Whippany, NJ

As a Senior Java Developer, you will work on Strategic OneReg regulatory deliverables for MIFID2 and US-based regulations (CAT, TRACE etc.

across all asset classes and product areas. In this role, you will also be developing and implementing solutions for the firm’s delivery for these regulations from the OneReg platform.

Get this opportunity to work on enhancements of existing OneReg MiFID and non-MiFID instances and adapting to a new expansive data fabric layer.

We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours).

What will you be doing?

• Assisting as required in the requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes
• Translating business requirements into functional specifications if required
• Participating in designing the technical architecture across all regulations
• Providing technical guidance and mentoring for junior developers in the OneReg team
• Interpreting and understanding functional specifications
• Designing and prototyping user-centric front and back end components
• Understanding and implementing brand values across all web pages, widgets, and reports

What we’re looking for :

• Four-year college degree
• Several years of software development experience with expertise in RDDMS / NoSQL technologies
• Several years of software development experience with expertise in Core Java
• More than two years of experience in a financial environment

Skills that will help you in the role :

• Solid design skills and experience working with high-volume data sets and high-throughput messaging and batch systems, JVM performance tuning
• Ideally have experience of working in an Ops Tech, Regulatory Reporting or Trade Capture environment
• Good knowledge of one relational database server, preferably SQL Server. Able to implement tables, views, stored procedures and write optimized SQL statements
• Ability to work independently and proactively and excellent communication skills
