Salary / Pay Rate / Compensation : $22 hr
What's a typical day as a Payroll Clerk? You'll be :
- Responsible for maintaining payroll records in Sage and hard copies.
- Compiling data to process payroll.
- Downloading, reviewing, and importing timesheets for bi-weekly payroll.
- Assisting managers with time sheet adjustments.
- Processing bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
- Processing payroll levies, garnishments, etc., and maintaining files.
- Regularly reviewing personal data in Sage for accuracy.
- Responsible for maintaining attendance accruals and records.
- Requesting A / P checks for payroll withholdings and reconciling deductions.
- Reporting new hires and terminations to the Texas Office of the Attorney General.
- Running monthly payroll reports and distributing as required.
- Assisting employees with payroll-related issues and providing reports or information.
- Reporting worker's compensation claims, maintaining records, and following up as needed.
- Recording and maintaining yearly OSHA reports.
- Filing quarterly IFTA report.
- Creating daily cash / credit card reports and emailing them to branches.
- Creating daily check deposit list and processing remote deposit on bank website.
- Doing daily bank sheet and positive pay when needed to back up accounting assistant.
- Assisting projects as requested by manager.
- Relieving the receptionist as needed.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Have a minimum of two years of experience processing complete payroll, including time and attendance, garnishments, etc.
- Have a general understanding of accounting, including A / R and A / P.
- Are detail-oriented with a high level of attention to accuracy.
- Have intermediate math skills.
- Are proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, Payroll, and Accounting Software.
- Have Sage knowledge (a plus).
- Have the ability to analyze data.
- Can operate equipment on a regular or recurring basis (computer, phone, scanner, and copier).
- Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
