Registered Nurse
Position is for the Nephrology Clinic location
Grand River Medical Group is seeking an energetic nurse (RN) to work with our kidney care specialists. You will be responsible for preparing for appointments, refilling medications, ordering lab work, and administering injections and IV medications for patients with kidney disease in the Tri-state area.
The ideal candidate will be committed to providing a high-quality, patient-centered experience to every patient that enters our clinic.
You will be team-minded and continue to promote a friendly work atmosphere. Each day will be a learning experience and different than the day before in this ever-changing field.
This is a full-time position, 36-40 hours per week. This position is a typically 4 days per week, with no evening or weekend requirements.
All nursing positions have the ability to pick up shifts at other clinic locations as desired. Grand River Medical Group's clinics are typically open from 7 : 30 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.
Duties include but are not limited to :
Prepare patients for Clinician office visit : greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record.
Explain procedures appropriate to visit.
- Assist the clinician with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments. Demonstrate ability to perform and assist with clinical procedures.
- IV administration.
- Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.
- Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record.
- Communicate to patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.
- Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating clinicians' advice and instructions to the patient and / or family and assess the patient and / or family understanding of the instructions and information.
Education / Experience / Skills :
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses.
- Minimum one year of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Must be a licensed RN with an active license to practice in the state of Iowa; BSN preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
