Position Summary :
The Marriage Formation Coordinator provides support to the pastor and parochial vicar in the area of Marriage Formation and Annulments .
This position will also perform various formation duties and meeting with individuals and couples as is needed, and may be required to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Manages program for marriage preparation consistent with Archdiocesan policies.
- Serves as the initial contact for couples seeking marriage in the Catholic Church.
- Maintains and is responsible for all marriage-related paperwork.
- Assigns couple to a marriage facilitator (initial meeting, FOCCUS, etc.)
- Processes marriage packets for couples marrying outside of this parish.
- Coordinates with Natural Family Planning groups to enroll interested couples.
- Serves as the initial contact for parishioners seeking information about annulments.
- Assigns case sponsors to petitioners. Tracks progress of annulments
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
Qualifications :
- Associates degree and / or 2-3 years related experience
- Minimum 2 years previous ministry experience in a Catholic environment required
- Proven ability to work as part of a team promoting a cohesive positive work environment
- Proven ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proven ability to multitask, and complete projects in a timely manner
- Must be flexible as work hours will vary
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Previous general office / administrative experience
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), with the ability to communicate to various levels of management and staff
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere, fostering a positive work environment
Physical Demands / Work Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and occasionally required to climb stairs;
balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds with assistance if needed.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
