Responsibilities Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations (ANA, 2010).

Qualifications Licensure : Active New York State Nursing License in Good Standing; GHMC abides with the New York Department of Education Nursing Licensure Board recommendation on the 16 hour work limit.

Education : Associate, Baccalaureate (preferred), Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing.

Department Critical Care Float Pool (6028) Floats to ICU’s, SDU, PCU, CDA, 2West-Incumbents previously trained within the ED will continue to float to the ED as needed) Required Experience 1 year Critical Care.

When offered, eligible candidates for the GHMC ICU Orientation Program are required to have either 2 years Medical-Surgical OR 1 year Medical-Telemetry / Progressive Care.

• Preferred Experience Emergency Department Recommended Training TNCC Mandatory Training TNCC ACLS PALS required within 6 months (10 / 26 / 2016);
• hired before 11 / 2016 will have 1 year to obtain PALS MERT Training within 6 months of hire or transfer CRRT Training within 1 year of hire or transfer TNCC required within 1 year for all new hires and transfers;
