Job Overview
USIS Inc / AmeriSys, part of Davies Specialty Programs, is looking for a Medical Bill Reviewer to review of Workers’ Compensation provider medical bills for cost containment purposes.
Opportunity to work from home after attending training in our Orlando office for a few weeks.
Responsibilities and Duties :
- Accurately entering data of provider bills according to state Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule rules.
- Analyzing, reviewing and recommending payment to medical providers based upon statutory rules or guidelines.
- Utilizing Fee Schedules, online document, client instructions and other training material to properly review medical bills.
- Researching usual and customary / Fee Schedule applications as appropriate.
- Ensuring timely payments to providers
- Handling provider and customer phone calls.
- Training on an on-going basis to increase knowledge with State Fee Schedule, medical terminology, use of reference materials,
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in specific state’s Workers’ Compensation Fee Schedule, medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding.
- Data entry proficiency and computer skills
- One-year medical terminology / medical office experience.
- Typing 60+ wpm / 10-key by touch. Position requires heavy numerical data entry with high ratio of accuracy.
- Preferred : familiarity with provisions and contents of other state WC programs, particularly : CA, GA, SC, NC, VA, AL and TN
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience dealing with medical provider offices.
- Organized, motivated, detail orientated.
- Ability to successfully meet daily deadlines.
- Reliable attendance.

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a home-based, full time, hourly, non-exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
