We have our clientthe City of Memphis in need of a Network Engineer. This will be aHybrid role (typically 23 days a week onsite) therefore candidates will need to be local or willingto relocate for therole.

The NetworkEngineer will be assisting in the designing and maintaining ofcomputer networks including local area networks (LANs) wide areanetworks (WANs) internet intranet cloud data center and othercommunications systems.
The Network Engineer will work under thedirection of the IT Infrastructure Manager and with various otherdepartments and teams both technical andnontechnical.
Tasks :
Performsadministration and implementation tasks for the organization snetwork infrastructure including wired wireless and voiceconnectivity.
Responds to requests for installation administrationand support of network components andsystems.
- Providestechnical support for network issues network analysis installationconfiguration and support. Coordinates and makes assignments forthe current and future requirements of assigned areas ofresponsibility.
- Implementsand provides guidance related to processes and policies. Createsand maintains network documentation including scopes of worksdiagrams processes and testplans.
- Monitorsnetwork performance and investigates problems and outages toresolution.
- Evaluatesand recommends solutions that are feasible cost effectivecompatible and consistent with the department and organization sstrategic goals.
Researches plans tests and supports theimplementation of various business and technicalsolutions.
- Respondsas required or requested on a 24 / 7 oncall basis to support theorganization.
- Workingwith other network engineers and / or vendor support to reducenetwork servicedisruption.
- Takesinitiative exercises sound judgement communicates and whennecessary directs inside and outside resources to resolveproblems.
- Performnetwork modeling analysis and planning for theenterprise
- Incorporatesecurity best practices in Network designimplementation
RequiredSkills andQualifications :
- 45Years of Networkingexperience
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study. Equivalentcombination of experience and relevant industry certification maybe substituted asappropriate
- Excellentverbal and written communicationskills.
- Abilityto track manage and ensure project tasks are completed in a timelymanner
- Abilityto prioritize multiple simultaneousprojects.
- WorkingTechnical Knowledge in Network Automation and NetworkDesign.
- Workingknowledge in Enterprise WirelessTechnology
- Workingknowledge in Extreme Networks (Extreme Routing and SwitchingExtreme Fabric Connect ExtremeCloud IQ) is aplus.
- Workingknowledge in low voltage structured cabling design and outsideplant fiber optic cablingdesign.
