Job Title : On-Call Program Assistant

Benefits : Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following :

  • Sick leave benefit 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)
  • Vacation benefit 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment)
  • Function : This is an on-call part-time, non-exempt, hourly position, apprx. 24 hours a week with limited benefits. While this position includes pro-rated vacation, this position is ineligible for;

paid sick time, holiday pay, as well as medical, dental, and optional insurance coverages.

Lambuth Family Center seeks a candidate who is flexible and available to work weekend day and evening hours. Schedule is a 12-hour shift both, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The Program Assistant works with families to ensure that all are safe, responsible, and respectful while staying at Lambuth Family Center.

We are seeking a candidate who can work independently with limited supervision. This position requires the ability to use discretion when addressing or resolving matters while providing a positive experience for families.

The Program Assistant requires basic knowledge of record-keeping practices and procedures. This position also has some cleaning responsibilities in addition to light food preparation / serving.

Work Environment : Lambuth is a 24 / 7 temporary, emergency housing site. Lambuth believes in serving families through a Trauma Informed lens.

Duties and Responsibilities : (List by section / topic as possible)

  • Provides consistent coverage for assigned shifts
  • Performs general administrative functions such as noting within the communication log, answering the phone, data entry in Wellsky, scanning receipts, completing inventory of products, and responding to in-person inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Provides appropriate information and referrals for those who need other resources.
  • Assists families of the Lambuth Family Center with needs and questions.
  • Works with families to ensure all are being safe, responsible, and respectful while staying at LFC.
  • Helps families resolve any issues, as they may arise
  • Provides crisis intervention as needed, including determining when it is necessary to involve other staff, administration, or the authorities.
  • Assist Office Manager, Case Managers, and Program Supervisor in projects, as needed
  • Assist in light cleaning and food preparation / serving
  • Attends staff meetings and participates in activities designated by supervisor.
  • Utilizes a Trauma Informed Care approach
  • Ensuring all families are adhering to the policies and procedures and informing appropriate staff of incidents or concerns in a timely manner.

Qualification and Education Requirements :

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required, Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Customer service experience; effective communication and people skills
  • Desire to serve others who are overcoming hardships
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional boundaries
  • Experience using trauma informed care and crisis management techniques, preferred
  • Ability to work independently or in a team
  • Ability to assess emergency situations and respond effectively
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, integrated database applications, and ability to use new software programs with basic training
  • Successfully pass background check
  • Proficient written and verbal skills in the English Language
  • Complete internal Protecting the Mission training for working with minors within three months of employment
  • Must be prompt and dependable

Physical Requirements :
