Position Summary :

Credentialing Specialists are responsible for supporting tasks associated with credentialing, payer enrollment, privileging and maintaining expiring documents for all providers and Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC) of United Urology Group, and maintaining the credentialing database.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Adheres to all United Urology Group’s policies and procedures.
  • Communicate directly with providers during the onboarding process to obtain all necessary data and documents to begin the credentialing and payer enrollment process.
  • Update the CAQH applications as needed and work within the department to keep information current.
  • Assists providers with licensure, DEA, and CDS applications.
  • Enters provider and facility information into United Urology Group’s credentialing database.
  • Completes the payer enrollment process for providers, office locations, and ASCs. Follows up on enrollment progress and communicates effective dates of enrollment.
  • Assists providers with obtaining hospital and external ASC privileging applications. Manage reappointment timeless to ensure continuity of care.
  • Prepares the provider files for the Medical Director's approval for privileging at Untied Urology Group’s ASCs. Manage reappointment timeless to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintains expirable documents for providers and ASCs, including DEA, CDS, and office and ASC CLIA licenses.
  • Investigate unresolved or complex issues, compile necessary information, and forward data to appropriate staff members for resolution.
  • Communicates with providers, groups, and company peers to maintain overall contractual compliance.
  • Responsible for the overall accuracy of the credentialing database, assuring that the information is current and that information is presented internally and externally in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information.
  • Uses and discloses only that information that is necessary to perform the function of the job.
  • Maintain relationships with Anesthesia groups that provide services at the United Urology Group’s ASC to ensure timely provider privileging.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned by manager / director.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two to four years of medical credentialing experience required.
  • Credentialing and database experience preferred.

Knowledge, Competencies & Skills :

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Office computer software.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute.

Physical Requirements for the Job :

  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Involves standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, and twisting.
  • Requires full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • May be required to help to transfer the patient.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
