The Property Maintenance Technician works in various settings and is knowledgeable in a variety of techniques for fixing many parts of buildings or residences, inside and out.
This position is a key member of the property maintenance team who works collaboratively with the Team Lead to provide quality maintenance to our clients.
This can include maintaining air conditioning and heating units, electrical appliances and outlets, plumbing, carpentry, and locks.
Role and Responsibilities
Perform a wide variety of repair and maintenance tasks efficiently, including : door, furniture, fixtures, sheet-rock, and appliance repair;
electrical repair; plumbing maintenance and repair; HVAC maintenance and repair; carpentry; and painting.
- Investigate possible maintenance problems and propose solutions.
- Be knowledgeable about and comply with all safety rules, standards, and regulations.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks on a regular basis.
- Determine tools and equipment needed for individual repair or maintenance jobs.
- Perform minor to moderate-level plumbing repairs and replacement / installation.
- Adhere to assigned work schedule.
- Maintain and organize building walls, floors, and ceilings.
- Display positive attitude and pride in work and represent the organization in a positive manner.
- Demonstrate ethics and adhere to Corporate Compliance Program.
- Utilize computers, calculators, and telephone to perform duties.
- Work independently and work under minimum supervision.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- One to three months previous related experience. Approved training program may substitute for experience.
- Depending on service contract, may require documentation of a disability.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check (subject to requirements of assigned site client).
- Demonstrated skill in repair and maintenance of household appliances, plumbing, and lighting fixtures.
- Demonstrated skill in heating and air conditioning unit repair and maintenance.
- Ability to operate a variety of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to multitask.
- Valid driver’s license, personal auto and liability insurance, and good driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles.
