5 South Irving is a 40 bed General Surgery medical / surgical unit treating patients post surgical procedures such as appendicitis / appendectomy, gallbladder disease / Lap, cholecystectomy, small / large bowel obstruction / colon resections, diverticulitis, GERD / Lap, Peripheral Vascular Disease / Bypass surgeries, kidney stones, prostate cancer / prostate surgery, lung cancer / lobectomies, plastic surgery.
This unit also treats medical patients such as pneumonia, bowel obstructions, COPD, cellulitis, etc. A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital.
This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties. # Education / Experience Requirements Required : ## Graduate of an accredited associate degree *A Graduate Nurse (GN) must complete NCLEX within 120 days of employment.
Preferred : ## Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or higher degree ########### *Bachelor#s degree required within 8 years of being hired or those licensed after 2017.
Licensure / Certification Requirements Required : ## Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse Basic Life Support (BLS) Preferred : Certification in a specialty area.
