Special Education Teacher
Location : Berkeley, CA
Position : Full-Time
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with a range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, and physical impairments.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to support their development.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Advocate for students' needs and work to remove barriers to their success.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid California Teaching Credential in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and special needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and improvement.
- Must be proficient in Math.
