Responsibilities of the Director of Accounting :

• Oversee the monthly close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement analysis.
• Create and maintain monthly reports to compare and analyze actual results against budgets, forecasts, and previous results.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify cost savings and maximize profitability.
• Serve as a point of contact and resource for department leaders to resolve issues.
• Manage accounts payable, including payment processing and overseeing the AP team.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns.
• Implement and streamline ERP and business applications.
• Issue timely and complete financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of external monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Assist external auditors with the annual audit.
• Coordinate the preparation of income tax returns and provision requests.
• Assist with the integration of acquisitions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting systems and supporting databases, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
• Train and support team members in the use of financial systems.

What the company needs in a Director of Accounting :

• CPA Designation
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
• Public Accounting Experience working for a large regional firm
• NetSuite Experience (+)
• ERP management and implementation experience (+)
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary : $120,000-140,000
