Ingram Industries is looking for an Audit Intern in our Nashville, TN office, but will be a hybrid position. The Ingram Industries Inc.
Internal Audit Internship Program is designated to offer selected students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience prior to completing their college degree.
The internship experience will provide participants insight into career opportunities within their chosen field and assist them in identifying areas of particular interest.
The program is intended to provide participants the opportunity to gain experience in both Financial / Operational auditing as well as Information Systems / Technology auditing.
Interns will work directly with members of the Internal Audit department to complete identified projects, and, in doing, experience practical applications of classroom instruction.
Interns will have the opportunity (in varying degrees, based on interest and ability) to participate in all phases of project management, from planning to recommendation development and presentation.
What you will be doing :
The Audit Internship will include (but not be limited to) opportunities to participate in financial audits, key business process review, operational reviews, and information technology reviews.
Specifically, participants will be provided opportunities to :
- Participate in the year end direct assist work with Ingram’s external auditor
- Document and participate in the evaluation and testing of key business processes (e.g., the Revenue cycle) and functions (e.
g., Credit) at major Ingram subsidiaries
- Document and evaluate specific operations (e.g., distribution center inventory management) for efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop / perform automated data analysis routines for reviewing financial and operational information
- Assist with reviews of IT general controls (e.g., change management)
- Work independently and remain online during scheduled hours.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Must be currently working toward a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems and either have completed or be enrolled in the intermediate courses in the related subject area.
- Should possess a minimum B overall average (3.0 on a 4.0 scale).
- Must be familiar with commonly used word processing and spreadsheet applications (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel).
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
