The Ambulatory Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for collaborating with ambulatory clinic staff, as well as IT, to develop IT system efficacy.
The Ambulatory CI Specialist will provide initial clinical application training to new staff, as well as continuing education / training and support.
The CI specialist will work to resolve problems quickly and efficiently in collaboration with IT clinical analysts while utilizing the change management process.
CI specialists will act as a resource and liaison at ambulatory staff meetings throughout the healthcare system. The Ambulatory CI Specialist will also assist IT with implementations and system upgrades of ambulatory clinical applications.
Minimum Requirements :
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification or LPN or RN license preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of medical practice experience preferred.
- Experience as an ambulatory clinical IT subject matter expert or Super-User preferred with certified EHR applications.
- A demonstrated interest in Healthcare Information Technology (IT) either through course work or experience in an ambulatory setting with the selection or implementation of a clinical information system.
- Ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects, with strong prioritizing skills.
- Ability to provide formal and informal technology teaching and competency validation.
- Strong understanding of ambulatory clinic workflow processes, resulting in current and future workflow enhancements and performance improvements to support nursing and physician practice.
- Self-direction in utilizing resources to meet objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
