My Non-Profit client in Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This position is a Contract to hire opportunity for the right person. APPLY TODAY!
Position Function :
- The Senior Accountant will utilize advanced accounting knowledge to assist in the administration of the overall fiscal control of the organization.
- This position will interact with other programs and departments to provide financial information and reports, review processes and transactions, and research issues.
- The Senior Technical Accountant will provide technical expertise and support in various accounting areas, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting treatment for new business initiatives, contracts and transactions, research and stay up to date on accounting standards and best practices, ensuring compliance and proposing process improvements.
- The position will assist the CFO and Director of Accounting in preparation and coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries, and will assist in development and maintenance of internal controls and procedures.
- Other general accounting duties may be assigned.
Requirements :
- Education : Master's Degree in Accounting or related field is required. CPA required.
- Experience : 3+ years of experience in technical accounting, preferably in a corporate environment and / or public accounting.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, & MS Excel. MS Excel proficiency at an intermediate level is required. Experience with Abila (formerly Sage) MIP software and Paylocity payroll software a plus.
- Nonprofit experience a plus.
- 1+ year of experience supervising others is preferred.

Key Expectations / Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of external audits, providing necessary documentation, schedules and addressing audit inquiries with the assistance of others on the team.
- Research and provide recommendations for compliance with new and existing accounting standards and best practices.
- Record transactions and reconcile investment accounts for the Foundation.
- Assist with compliance with federal and state grant requirements, including CFR 200 regulations.
- Assist with Circular A-133 compliance and the Single Audit.
- Assist with annual Form 990 tax preparation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare various government and contract compliance reports.
- Provide financial and accounting information as requested to other departments and programs.
- Assist in budget preparation.
- Review actual-to-budget financial statements for accuracy and trends.
- Perform general accounting duties when assigned in areas of general ledger, cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, grants and contracts accounting, etc.
- Other tasks, projects, and reports as assigned by the Director of Accounting or CFO.
