Typical Duties include :
- Maintains accurate records of all property impounded by the department; enters information an electronic database.
- Ensures the proper storage of property in the property evidence room.
- Prepares correspondence to inform owners of recovered property.
- Release property to owners as appropriate.
- Coordinates the purging and disposal of property; coordinates with appropriate officers; coordinates auctions as appropriate;
coordinates the destruction of property as appropriate.
- Transfers monies to the Finance Department for deposit.
- Processes impounded vehicles; prepares correspondence for owners and lien holders.
- Prepares and transmits evidence for laboratory examinations.
- Participates in special events and programs.
- Performs related duties.
Minimum Qualifications include :
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship / internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
The salary for this position is graded between $54,341.73-64,011.78and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
