Make your mark as a Senior Financial Analyst at Kearney
The Senior Financial Analyst, North America role is a part of the Americas Finance team within Kearney and will report directly to the Americas Finance Director.
The Senior Financial Analyst supports the Americas Head of Finance in daily operations including month-end close, forecasting, budgeting and FP&A ad hoc requests.
In this position, one must be able to work independently and act as a trusted business partner. A key responsibility is to communicate both effectively and proactively.
The individual is expected to continuously contribute ideas and drive value added analysis for the business. This position will focus primarily on the US and Canada and will also support Mexico.
Position Scope
This position is responsible for, but not limited to the following support functions :
- Support our leaders with insightful reporting to facilitate decision making
- Month close
- Revenue recognition - work closely with the project financials team and project teams to ensure revenue is accurately stated.
- Review of costs at the GL level to ensure overall P&L integrity
- Variance analysis (Actuals vs. Forecast, Plan, etc.)
- Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Quarterly forecast
- Annual budget
- Performance analysis
- SG&A analysis to drive insightful discussions with each function
- Account profitability analysis Practice and Account level
- Staff Utilization / Client Hours Review
- Investment ROI review
- Ad hoc requests / analysis to support the leadership team (Local leadership and Practice Leadership) and improve profitability and reporting
- Prior years example includes building out new profitability model for the firm, leading new software implementation, annual cost rate studies, etc.
- SAP Implementation support (from business perspective)
Work Experience
- 5+ years related work experience
- Professional services experience is a plus
Skills
- Collaborative approach and excellent listening skills
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline- and team-oriented environment
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized while demonstrating a high level of attention to detail
- Deep finance and accounting knowledge - must have experience in budgeting and financial planning
- Analytical mindset and ability to simplify complex issues to take decisions - must have strong excel and PowerPoint skills
- SAP experience preferred
- Power BI experience is a plus
Education
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required, MBA preferred
