About the Role :
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Medical Practitioner within the Mental Health Division
The Medical Practitioner is responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to current department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Visiting Specialists, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.
The incumbent actively contributes to Continuous Quality Improvement activities and education activities.
The Medical Practitioner is required to exercise knowledge and skills in the treatment of consumers with a complex clinical picture of chronic psychiatric illness and / or cognitive impairment with challenging
behaviours. This may be in consultation with specialist medical providers.
As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years.
Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health's requirements.
This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
To be eligible for this position, you must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with general Registration.
The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
