Our client is currently seeking a SANITATION MANAGER for their manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities :
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of 38 FTE (including 3 supervisors) across 3 shifts
- Assist in the daily evaluation of product quality to ensure compliance with established standards
- Ensure proper training of sanitation personnel to follow work rules and procedures
- Support compliance to plant quality and food safety systems, pest control, sanitation, environmental policy, corrective action policy, etc.
- Evaluate job performance of sanitation personnel and take corrective action as needed
- Ensures master sanitation schedules are maintained.
- Conduct inspections and initiate corrective action as needed
- Orders all cleaning chemicals and maintains adequate levels are cleaning inventory
- Participate and lead continuous improvement efforts for the department
Qualifications & Requirements :
- 3+ years of quality or sanitation leadership experience in the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety programs and systems : GFSI (BRC or SQF preferred), internal auditing, cGMPs, HACCP
- strong CIP experience required
- Open to working on a 1st shift Monday- Friday with occasional weekend or holiday work as needed
- Strong familiarity with sanitation chemicals and ordering / storage of these materials.
- Microbiological and sanitation experience preferred
