Job Description
The Sr. Project Manager, Construction is a key member of the Construction & Design team at Eataly, taking a lead role in driving and delivering Eataly’s North America growth plans.
Reporting to the VP of Construction, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and managing complex construction projects from inception through completion.
The Sr Construction Project Manager will help guide and mentor construction managers.
- Assist in developing Cost to Build estimates and development schedules for new leases
- Assist in developing accurate work letter documentation new leases
- Utilize Eataly Procore system for tracking invoices and all project documentation for projects assigned
- Lead and manage all phases of all assigned construction projects, including planning, design, development, project schedules, procurement, construction, and close-out
- Helps develop and fully manages budgets consistent with timeline requirements for New Store Development and Renovation Projects
- Monitor and control project costs to prevent budget overruns.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
- Ensures a construction project schedule is initiated and distributed to key stakeholders : maintain and distribute revised schedules to all applicable parties through the duration of the project to allow a timely execution
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior project managers and other team members.
- Provides, reviews and coordinates construction documents with architects, KEC, MEPs and landlord
- Manages the permitting and approval phase of the development process and ensures all proper approvals have been received prior to initiating possession or construction phase
- Monitors and directs general contractor and vendor performance during construction build-out phase
- Consolidates, communicates and manages all issues and risks affecting the project : communicate project status to project participants and stakeholders accurately and on time
- Support and mentor Junior Construction Project Managers
- Maintains relationships with jurisdictions and planning commissions to ensure seamless execution.
- Addresses and resolves any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders promptly.
- Coordinates and adjusts for owner provided items during new store opening
- Oversees ordering and tracking of materials and equipment
- Performs other duties as required or assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; Construction Management or equivalent preferred
- 12+ years of general construction experience; 1+ years of restaurant-specific construction experience
- Previous experience managing large grocery / restaurant / retail project budgets; strong finance skills preferred
- Experience with grocery store or restaurant rollouts in a brand or as an owner’s rep is strongly preferredExcellent technical and software skills, including Procore, SharePoint, Revit, Cad and / or Sketch Up;
Project Mates software preferred
- Exceptional project management and time-management skills
- Excellent communication, motivation and problem-solving skills
- Italian working knowledge preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; able to recognize when to pivot vs holding steady
The base pay range for this position is $140- $155,000 per year.
