Description
Kitchen Utility is responsible assisting in the operation of the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness through the operation of dishwashing equipment and sinks, removal of garbage and recycling, and the cleaning of work areas.
The Kitchen Utility represents the hotel to all guests and completes all daily duties and assigned projects utilizing the principles, policies and standards of Hulsing Hotels.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Associate must set up and shut down dish station according to hotels guidelines.
- Responsible for all trash and recycling removal, as well as sweeping and mopping assigned areas.
- Uses proper method to clean dishes i.e. Aluminum sheet pans and other related items are to be cleaned in 3 compartment sinks glasses, plates, flatware in dish machine.
- Ensures dishes are clean, sanitized and free of debris before storing with other clean dishes.
- Places dishes in proper storage spaces, i.e. same size plates together, same type glasses together, and same flatware together.
- Must have working knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
- Properly uses all kitchen equipment and ensures the proper and safe use of all equipment.
- Completes all assigned cleaning functions as specified by supervisor during working shift.
- Notifies supervisor of all potential safety hazards, as well as all customer complaints.
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills Required :
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one (1) year of previous experience in a kitchen environment is required.
- Must be team oriented, empathetic, friendly and show initiative.
- Must be able to represent the hotel in a professional manner to hotel guests.
