Assistant Production Supervisor-2nd Shift

Position Summary :

Primary responsibility will be assisting in providing direction and overseeing day-to-day operation of the production floor, monitoring the quality of work and to ensure team members are receiving proper training.

Essential Position Responsibilities :

• Regular attendance is an essential function of this job
• Ability to move material (up to 55 lbs.) and stage at machines and / or prepare for delivery
• Ability to efficiently operate / run each piece of equipment on the production floor
• Assist in prioritizing and scheduling workflow and personnel based on equipment capabilities and customer needs
• Assist in executing production plan, adjusting for unexpected events (absenteeism, mechanical failures, rush orders, etc.)
• Perform needed quality checks, inspections and minor mechanical adjustments to equipment when needed
• Work with Production Supervisors to optimize production throughput and efficiencies measured by SLA’s.
• Assist in monitoring and enforcing company rules and policies
• Responsible for all production form’s administration. (updates and revisions follow QA procedures)
• Effectively communicate with team members, peers and other departments
• Assist with all inbound return mail being proceed in a timely manner
• Assist in tracking and reporting of all spoiled postage in a timely manner
• Monitor and enforce company rules and policies
• Prepare mail for delivery to USPS, Common Carriers or third-party mailers
• Provide other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training related to mail processing and insertion is a plus.
• Previous experience as an insertion operator or in a similar production role.
• Strong technical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting insertion equipment.
• Leadership skills and experience in supervising a team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality in the insertion process.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with mail processing software and procedures is advantageous.
