Entry-level case management work which includes a combination of formal and on-the-job training. Determines final action based on reports of field and office investigations relative to financial assistance and homeless services.
May assist homeless outreach team for various client activities. May work in a navigation call center, screening homeless and at risk of homeless callers for services.
Evaluates information and institutes program action; prepares complete case reports within the general framework of professional casework techniques and existing laws, rules and regulations governing the social services program.
Work is performed under direct supervision of a supervisor, who reviews work through observation of the employee's skill in performing the necessary case work functions, review of casework and by analysis of reports indicating end results.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field.
Equivalencies :
1. Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience in social work or closely related field
2. Related Associate's Degree and two (2) years of experience in social work or closely related field
3. Unrelated Associate's Degree and three (3) years of experience in social work or closely related field
4. Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and four (4) years of experience in social work or closely related field.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE : Providing self-sufficiency and homeless prevention / services; conducting home visits. Also desirable : Bilingual (English / Spanish / Creole);
knowledge of Windows 10 : Word, Excel and Outlook (must specify on application) ; knowledge of Time Server, Advantage, Human Resources Information System (HRIS) (must specify on application) .
