What is this job?
The Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks in accordance with menus planned by the Director of Support Services and approved by a Dietician.
The cook is responsible for maintaining sanitary conditions in the kitchen, coolers, freezers, serving area and dining hall at all times.
He / she supervises, teaches and role models for youth.

- Prepare meals according to the menu and Dietary Supervisor.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
- Prepare meals for special functions and packed meals.
- Check items that are delivered, unpack and store them in the appropriate area.
- Communicate with the Dietary Supervisor weekly for food and other supplies.
- Record cooler, freezer, and food temperatures daily on the forms provided.
What experience and education do I need?
Required Education and Experience
- One year of food service experience.
- Must have prior training and a working knowledge of quantity food preparation.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Two years food service experience
