Summary :
The Chicago Tribune, subsidiary of Tribune Publishing, is seeking a Platemaker to join our team! As a Platemaker, you'll create and supply printing plates for our press department.
You'll use advanced computer skills for plate production and page planning, set up pages according to specifications, and ensure a clean work environment.
Physical tasks include lifting plates, maintaining equipment, and moving materials. Effective communication with other teams is essential for smooth production.
What you will do :
Produce printing plates and plan page layouts using computer software
Set up 4-color and black & white pages as per design specifications
Interpret press layout instructions accurately for plate positioning
Maintain cleanliness in your work area and assist with equipment cleaning
Transport plates between storage areas using a hand jack
Collaborate with other production teams to ensure efficient operations
