Job Description
The School of Physician Assistant Studies, Boston seeks an adjunct faculty member to work as a lab instructor in the Gross Anatomy Lab.
The instructor will deliver high quality learning experiences and education for students in the Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program.
The selected candidate will have responsibilities teaching Gross Anatomy to graduate students. This includes teaching anatomy by dissection of human cadavers in lab.
Subject matters may include anatomy of the head and neck, anatomy of the thorax, anatomy of the abdomen, and anatomy of the extremities.
- Deliver laboratory instruction in person, in the Cadaver Lab for the School of Physician Assistant Studies
- Instruction will align with course goals and learning objectives
- Support incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion into the curriculum, as well as co-curricular experiences, to broaden the education of students and expand their knowledge of health disparities.
- Use the University’s learning management system
- Advise and assist students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by videoconference, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
- Provides service including student mentoring, ongoing course development, and assessment
- Assist in the coordination of cadaver delivery, and lab set-up
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
Required :
- Master’s Degree or higher in related field
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field of anatomy
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the college / university level
- Commitment to graduate and professional education and student success
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration / staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
