The Human Resources Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifying all insurance billing, maintaining employee database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices.

They are also responsible for supporting other HR operations.

A day in the life :

  • Administration of employee benefits (take lead on some tasks and assist with others i.e., enroll teammates with carriers, process life status changes, assist with claims issues and plan changes, determine eligibility, distribute enrollment information and materials, Open Enrollment)
  • Administer new employee setups (i.e., I-9s and E-Verify, deductions and reimbursements, social security verifications, COBRA reimbursements)
  • Administration of FMLA, other leaves of absences, and requests for short term and long disability
  • Respond, resolve, and answer benefits, employee information, or payroll related questions
  • Process background / credit checks, drug tests and FCRA compliance
  • Administration of miscellaneous employee information processes within HCM (i.e. employee changes, personal information, etc.)
  • Perform quality checks of employee information and benefits-related data
  • Respond and represent CW during unemployment hearings
  • Set up, review, and send reports and data to managers
  • Maintain confidentiality, protecting company, personal, and private information

You should have :

  • Possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent attention to detail, administrative, and organizational skills; data entry accuracy
  • Possess ability to sort, analyze, and understand numerical data
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve, raise concerns to supervisor
  • Benefits Administration work experience preferred, but not required

  • Demonstrate skill, experience, and proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision; demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to perform responsiblities in a timely manner and prioritize urgent requests
  • Team-oriented, helpful attitude, and professional demeanor
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not required. (English / Spanish)
