Bids & Tender Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Handles customer enquiries and shipment documentation, following MSC guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Enter and monitor shipment information through use of MSC proprietary IT system.
- Liaise with shippers, consignees, government agencies and overseas offices as necessary.
- Assume documentary and customer service responsibility for all assigned shipments.
- Maintain efficient ocean shipments documentation and correspondence.
- Establish and maintain positive relationship with customers.
- Efficiently routing all files and shipments
- Provide timely and accurate response to customer inquiries regarding transportation milestones and shipment details.
- Observe corporate guidelines when addressing customer inquiries regarding shipments.
- Escalate unique or complex customer issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
- Generate potential solutions to customer issues.
- Provide feedback regarding current corporate practices and metrics to order to support process efficiencies.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIREMENTS
Required skills, experience, education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- English : advanced
- Strong attention to details
- Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Great team player
- Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software
- Preferred skills, experience, education
- Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, administrative or clerical jobs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
