Job Description : n n SUMMARY : This position is primarily responsible for managing operations functions and staff, resolving problems pertaining to operations, analyzing and improving existing procedures, serving as an operations resource to other departments, and managing operational general ledger accounts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT : The Operations Supervisor role is FULL-TIME, HYBRID, with an expectation of remote work after suitable training period and acceptable level of competency has been reached.

Headquartered in Wake County, our footprint extends from Cary to Eastern North Carolina, and candidates are expected to be located within one hour of a First Flight branch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervises multiple segments of the Operations department such as VISA / ATM, ACH, Check and Account processing and servicing.

Leads operations department in development and implementation of creative solutions to problems, completing projects within time constraints, and improving procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.

Administers department’s functions, ensuring compliance to the organization’s policy, legal and government rules and regulations by establishing, monitoring and maintaining policies and procedures.

Responsible for accurate and timely completion of analysis and reconciliation of operational general ledger accounts.Resolves operational problems.

Acts as a resource to other divisions regarding operational issues.Leads the implementation of system changes to support new products, ensures system integrity and recommends program changes to more efficiently and effectively support services offered.

Responsible for coordinating resources and deadlines to ensure timely completion of projects.Develops and maintains relationships with industry groups and organizations to keep abreast of changes in federal and state banking regulations and ensures that changes are implemented in a timely fashion.

Builds constructive and effective relationships with multiple departments to support a collaborative working environment.

Exercises the usual authority of a supervisor concerning performance improvement plans, reviews, training, promotions, salary recommendations, and terminations.

Coaches, develop, and inspire staff to maximize their potential career development.Ensures Operations tasks are adequately covered with sufficient back up resources.

Supervisor may process tasks or serves as backup in order to complete daily procedures and processes in the absence of operations staff.

Develops and recommends business plans, operation procedures, and system utilization that support the department’s long-term strategic objectives and vision.

ACCOUNTABILITY : Area of oversight includes, but not limited to : Automated Clearing House (ACH) processingCheck Services and file postingDebit Card ServicesATM and Cash ManagementWiresIRA processingHandling of Deceased members’ accounts SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Manages up to 5 employees in the Operations Department.

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;

planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing Software, Accounting Software, Database Software, Internet Software, Spreadsheet Software, Project Management Software.
