Job Summary :
The Director of Compliance Programs / Privacy ( Director ) reports directly to the Kettering Health Chief Compliance Officer / Vice President of Corporate Integrity ( CCO ).
The Director assists the CCO with the development and implementation of an effective compliance and corporate integrity program for the Kettering Health system.
Job Duties :
- Develop, enhance and operationalize system-level policies to support adherence to Kettering Health’s compliance program, federal / state privacy regulations and regulations that prohibit fraud waste & abuse of federal healthcare programs
- Serve as Kettering Health’s Chief Privacy Officer
- Identify, on an ongoing basis, areas of healthcare compliance risk to actively monitor and audit based on various data sources including, but not limited to, federal / state guidance, internal risk assessments and concerns reported to the KH hotline
- Support the development of and manage an annual compliance plan designed to address potential fraud, waste & abuse based on areas of focus identified by federal and state agencies and organization-specific risks
- Co-lead Kettering Health’s drug diversion program and assist with drug diversion investigations
- Support the investigation of compliance-related concerns reported to Kettering Health’s hotline
- Participate in committees, teams and projects to provide compliance-related guidance and advice
- Promptly and effectively respond to questions and inquiries about a wide-range of compliance-related issues including, but not limited to, conflicts of interest, beneficiary inducement, billing and coding, HIPAA, provider-based rules and physician compensation
- Provide training and education to leaders, providers and employees across the organization regarding healthcare compliance-related issues
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance role with leadership responsibilities
- Ability to work in the office at least 4 days / week
- A compliance mindset with a strong sense of integrity and the ability to effectively and professionally collaborate with and positively influence leaders to navigate complex problems
- Excellent project management, communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple complex and confidential tasks and competing priorities
- Ability to manage and devote resources based on data and identified priorities of the organization and the compliance department
