Assist the Grant Accounting Manager with the accounting, administration, and reporting requirements of all externally funded grants following GAAP, Uniform Guidance, and Marquette University Business Policies and Procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Monitor grant accounts and partnering with PIs and / or ORSP of potential over or under expenditures of funds, and potential payment issues along with assisting in the resolution, and closeout of expired grants in a prompt manner
2. Review, approve, and analyze grant expenditures / accounts to ensure charges are necessary, reasonable, allocable, and allowable under the terms and conditions of the award.
3. Ensure timely cash inflows through the preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly cash draws and / or invoices.
4. Support annual University Financial and Uniform Guidance audit functions.
5. Prepare, review, and submit interim and final financial reporting to funding agencies.
6. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
7. Timely establishment of new grant accounts to expedite the use of research funds.
8. Contribute to the updating, revising, automating, and streamlining of grant accounting procedures.
9. Maintain, track, tag, and inventory grant-funded assets.
10. Prepare, send, collect, analyze, and resolve issues with Time and Effort Certification.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Bachelor’s degree in business, preferably in accounting.A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Strong organizational skills.
Detail oriented
Strong communication skills.
Computer proficiency with strong Excel, Word, and other word-processing software skills. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience working with grants
Ability to support the University’s Catholic, Jesuit mission.
Understanding of compliance
