Position Title : Environmental Safety Specialist

Waypoint’s client has an immediate opening for an Environmental Safety Specialist to join their growing team!
Responsibilities :
- Serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities
- Draft policy statements, standard operating procedures, fact sheets, newsletter articles and other communications regarding current and future environmental regulations affecting the Government
- Develop and / or review applicable environmental compliance and management plans
- Review National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation and provide Facilities' project managers advice on NEPA applicability
- Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state and federal regulations
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections / audits / evaluations as directed by the Government to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and Presidential Executive Orders
- Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the Government
- Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for Government employees and contractors
Required Qualifications :
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Nationally recognized environmental credential desired (Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Professional Engineer (PE), etc.)
Required Education :
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science or Engineering
