Purpose of the Job :

The Lead Teacher of dReam Kids Academy is responsible for providing early childhood education to children between the ages of 6 weeks to 4 years old.

The Lead Teacher will be responsible for maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education.

Additionally, this individual must possess a growth mindset and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions and rapidly assess the needs of young children.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop lesson plans and programs for applicable age groups; ages 6 weeks 4 years, and after school.
  • Manage a busy classroom environment, and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning.
  • Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other supplementary assistance.
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment.
  • Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis.
  • Work with diverse populations of children and adults from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the overall care of the childcare facility to ensure compliance, safety, cleanliness and proper classroom ratios.
  • Monitor supply inventory to ensure that necessary items are always well-stocked.
  • Adhere to all documented requirements for students such as dietary restrictions, medical conditions, and all other critical data.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Must be able to work effectively under pressure and in crisis situations.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with parents and other staff.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as relevant software applications.

Qualifications :

  • CDA, or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field such as Psychology or Social Work.
  • 3 + years of experience in an early childhood setting.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification and willingness to complete 10 hours of annual training.
