Overview :
Weare seeking experienced Spanish interpreters to support disasterrelief operations in partnership with FEMA in the Tampa area.
Thisrole will involve onsite consecutive interpretation services fordisaster survivors assisting in critical communication between FEMApersonnel and Spanishspeakingindividuals.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Provideconsecutive interpretation between English and Spanish in disasterrelief settings.
- Facilitatecommunication between FEMA staff and Spanishspeaking disastersurvivors.
- Interpret in variousenvironments including shelters recovery centers and fieldoperations.
- Accurately conveyinformation with cultural sensitivity andprofessionalism.
- Adhere to FEMAguidelines and protocols for disaster reliefoperations.
Requirements
- Fluencyin Spanish and English (spoken andwritten).
- Minimum of 3 years ofprofessional consecutive interpretationexperience.
- Ability to work 8hourshifts 7 days per week in an onsitesetting.
- Strong communication andinterpersonal skills.
- Ability toremain calm and focused in highpressure fastpacedenvironments.
- Experience in disasterrelief or emergency services is aplus.
PreferredQualifications :
Familiaritywith FEMA operations andterminology.
