Summary :

We are seeking a motivated Entry to Mid-Level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to assist in growing Tetra Tech’s Texas environmental business.

Candidate must be highly motivated and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. Candidate must also have the ability to manage a heavy workload, travel as needed, possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Proficiency with MS Office applications is a requirement.

Your Role :

• Support management of medium-to-large, complex tasks to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
• Preparation and / or review of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, safety plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
• Assist Project Managers with planning environmental investigation and remediation tasks.
• The preparation of charts, boring logs, and cross-sections depicting subsurface conditions.
• Field work will include but is not limited to directing the installation of soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells, groundwater / soil sampling, site inspections, and subcontractor oversight.
• Prepare subcontracts (Federal and / or civilian) and coordinate all aspects of subcontractor tasks including schedule, logistics, health, and safety.
• Communicate effectively and work with regulators and other stakeholders with or on behalf of clients to further project delivery and success.
• The position may require extensive outdoor work as well as extended overnight travel and weekend work.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications :

• BS degree or equivalent in any of the multi-disciplined environmental sciences or geologic sciences required.
• Two to six years’ experience in the environmental industry or related environmental consulting experience.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel required. ArcGIS experience is a plus.
• Applicant must possess excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
• Previous experience with site investigations, remediation, sampling, and knowledge of TCEQ and RRC cleanup programs.
• Applicant must also be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a team environment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE :

• Experience with remediation of heavy industry and RCRA related sites.
• Compliance and hazardous waste management experience.
• SPCC and SWPPP compliance experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory analytical testing and data validation / interpretation.
