About this role
A celebrated firm with a broad client base is looking for an agile project manager to handle large civic projects. You will be managing all phases of projects and have overall project responsibility for client satisfaction, quality control and financial performance.
This role will be solving construction problems and working to see concepts realized on-time and on-budget using your strong technical knowledge, knowledge of products and familiarity with project phasing and budgets to successfully deliver a polished finished product.
Key responsibilities :
- Manage all phases of projects, including project set-up, design and construction administration
- Manage project scheduling, staffing, budgets, and deliverables and set-up with sub-contractors, vendors and consultants
- Prepare project proposals, negotiate contracts and fees, coordinate bidding process
- Manage a range of project team sizes, comprised of project architects, interior designers, job captains and graphic designers
- Track financial performance of projects
- Ensure projects conform to contract
- Delegate work to and mentor junior staff
- Manage client relations
- Collaborate in a tight-knit studio of 20-30 people within a larger office
Skills and experience :
- 20+ years of experience
- 15+ years of PM experience in New York
- Civic, Education, Government / Justice, Cultural project experience
- Degree in Architecture required
- Experience with the entire project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
- Experience negotiating project scope and fees
- Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
- Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on projects
- Revit and AutoCAD proficiency is a big plus
