Senior Gameplay Engineer | Diablo IV | Albany, NY

Responsibilities :

Design, implement, improve, and maintain various gameplay systems for Diablo 4 ensuring they meet the design vision and performance goals.

Work closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to iterate on gameplay features, while maintaining a high level of quality and consistency.

Act as a collaborative ambassador of engineering to the rest of the team.

Optimize gameplay performance : Analyze and improve the performance of gameplay systems, ensuring smooth and responsive player experiences on a range of hardware configurations.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented development environment.

Debug and resolve complex issues : Identify and fix bugs, optimize code, and troubleshoot issues in gameplay systems, ensuring stability and reliability in the final product.

Requirements :

Minimum 5 years of game programming experience and shipped at least 1 AAA title.

Proficient in C / C++

Experience in several of the following areas : quests and narrative content systems, user interface, player abilities, combat, AI, or other game systems.

Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Self-motivation and willingness to participate in many areas of game development.

Bonus :

In-depth familiarity with the Diablo franchise, and other Blizzard Entertainment products

Experience playing and / or developing RPGs, ARPGS, and / or MMORPGS.

Experience working with client / server game systems.

Experience crafting and supporting tools used in game development.

Experience with C#

Computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent experience
