JOB DESCRIPTION :
- Assesses patient needs, and plans, and delivers direct dental hygiene care and associated services to patients as well as provides oral health education.
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Take x-rays of patients' teeth and develop them for dentist's use
- Helps dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drugs and
oxygen supply, and a directory of emergency numbers
Uses dental appliances to perform procedures to provide preventive or corrective care.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate's degree from an accredited hygiene program
- VA State hygiene license
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to use an x-ray machine
