Compensation Range : $192,200 To $240,200 Plus bonus
Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and / or location.
Job Purpose
Assist the VP Worldwide Controller & Chief Accounting Officer with respect to overseeing and directing Controller activities related to EnerSys including : external and internal reporting, implementation of new accounting standards and footnotes, control systems, preparation of select technical memos and Special projects, with a view towards transitioning to the VP Corporate Controller role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the monthly and annual closing process of financial records as needed
- Ensure proper controls and internal reporting are in place within the Controller’s Department to meet all public reporting, FASB, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements
- Preparation of select footnotes, technical memos and review of SEC filings and internal management reports
- Utilize process improvement methodologies & new report creation to streamline and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance department
- Coordinate with and support both the external audit firm and other internal finance departments in business activities related to mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, investments, re-engineering, auditing, etc.
- Identify, develop, and implement departmental policies and procedures as necessary

Qualifications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES :
This position has no direct reports but is responsible for participation / supervision of monthly segment close meetings and associated follow-up documentation.
Will interact and direct financial colleagues (that do not report into the Corporate Controller Department directly) on Special Projects.
COMPETENCIES :
- Significant experience working at or auditing of a multi-billion dollar public company with international operations
- SEC reporting experience
- Technical Accounting Research and Memo preparation
- Cost based manufacturing experience preferred
- Superior communication skills (verbal & written)
- Exceptional management skills of multiple priorities
- High level of integrity with a team-oriented disposition
- Ability to work effectively within all levels of management

Education and / or Experience
- Four year degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- Public accounting and Significant experience within a manufacturing company preferred
- Significant experience within a public company
- Big 4 Senior Manager level experience or equivalent
- Track record of accomplishments in corporate setting for a public company
Language Skills
- Ability to speak and read English fluently is required
- Other language skills a plus.
Computer Skills
- Ability to operate all standard Microsoft applications (Office 365)
- Ability to operate financial systems a plus, Hyperion, BAAN, SAP etc.
TRAVEL REQUIRED :
Travel demands will fluctuate. While it is anticipated that travel will be limited, at times significant travel may be required
