Our client, a nationwide manufacturer of glass and metal products, has an immediate need for an experienced Director of IT , to join their winning team in Cicero.
Our candidate of choice will serve as the overall leader of IT operations responsible for delivering and sustaining cost-effective, reliable, high-performing and secure day-to-day IT capabilities required to support our present and future business needs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- People leadership and team management, including performance management, development plans, and performance reviews.
- Overall accountability for day-to-day IT operations.
- Supplier management : Service delivery tracking, adherence to SLA, and financial requirements.
- Manage strategic relationships and contracts with appropriate 3rd-party providers.
- Ensure consistent adherence to IT security requirements.
- Ensure the IT environment is consistently updated with the appropriate security patches, preferred security configurations and modern security protocols
- Continuous improvement and innovation across all systems and services in the area of responsibility.
- Project delivery for initiatives in scope for the team.
- Budget management for both IT operations services and project delivery.
- Audit compliance and alignment.
- Define and track consistent practices and proper workload assignments to ensure we can meet the demand for services, projects, and other project requests without impacting quality, availability, and performance of our IT environment.
- Ensure standard IT operations processes are appropriately documented, kept up to date, and leveraged for the delivery of daily IT operations services.
- Own and maintain the organization's IT disaster recovery (DR) process, including the planning, coordination and execution of an annual DR drill.
- Identify and ensure all necessary updates are timely made to appropriate IT architecture, processes and documentation.
- Lead associates and actively coach them to develop talent and ensure high levels of employee engagement.
KEY REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in computer service or related field.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in cloud architecture, cloud operations, Network operations, and security practices.
- Ability to stay current in the relevant IT technology areas as products, services, standards, and practices rapidly evolve.
- Strong leadership, problem solving, decision-making and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to design and deploy technical capabilities that meet all business requirements and fully align with business partners to drive company-wide adoption.
- Understand Business intelligence tools and recommend reporting options
- Ability to build and effectively communicate vision and strategy.
- Effectively lead and operate remote teams.
- Experience providing cost-effective, secure, reliable, and modern IT operations capabilities and services with high dependency on strategic service providers.
- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers and Business Leaders, preferably in a Manufacturing environment at the Plant level.
- Experience defining and implementing continuous improvement and new technology adoption initiatives in an ERP environment.
- Track record of effective communication with managed teams, executive leadership, and a diverse network of service stakeholders and suppliers.
