FEV Software & Testing Solutions, an FEV company, has an opening for a Machine Builder to work at their Auburn Hills, MI facility.
We design, develop, test, and construct industrial automation and test products.
The primary responsibility of this position is to read and review drawings, organize materials, and build machines. Dynamic projects ranging from simple manual test cells to complete complex turn-key system solutions.
Job Responsibilities :
- Ensure that problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are escalated through the proper channels.
- Requires machining, and tool making knowledge.
- Verify machine functionality, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer's specifications.
- Prepares projects and kits for shipment.
- Familiar with the construction and start-up practices.
- Familiar with Electrical Panels, Power Distribution, and Industrial Electrical Controls.
- Travel to customer site to perform installation and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications to obtain customer acceptance.
- Support in scheduling and coordinating the participation of Vendors at site in regard to installation of equipment and their participation in the execution of start-up activities.
- Support the project team in ensuring all the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and automation installation punch list items are cleared and signed-off as per project requirements.
- Ensure than all installation and handover activities on the project are executed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Keep track of project timing and materials.
- Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
- Some local travel, machine / system installation or repair.
Required Qualifications :
- 2+ years' experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Analyzes assembly drawings to specifications. Plans assembly and building operations.
- Tryout, troubleshoot, make necessary adjustments to machinery. Adjust components as needed throughout tryout for an issue free customer buyoff.
- Troubleshoot issues and work with the appropriate resource(s) (i.e.. Supervisor, Engineering, Machining, etc.) to resolve.
- Machine and systems, setup and assembly experience.
- Knowledge of various mechanical principles and systems.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists.
- Candidate must supply own tools.
- Valid Michigan drivers license / Enhanced and or passport.
