Summary

The purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise in the area of pharmaceutical microbiology. The position functions in a cooperative effort to provide quality control and assurance to the operational departments involved in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Conduct routine environmental and systems monitoring of manufacturing and laboratory areas.
• Conduct general laboratory experimentation in compliance with the instructions provided in approved SOP’s to determine appropriate action.
• Follow policies and assists in the development of new procedures and / or documents.
• Maintain records of experiments performed and results obtained including appropriate calculations.
• Assist in the interpretation of data as require and conduct accurate and precise experimentation and complete documentation of results.
• Assist in the preparation of data for presentations.
• Maintain a level of technical knowledge and understanding in the assigned areas of responsibility consistent with the scientific requirements of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This person has no direct supervisor responsibilities.

Interaction :

The incumbent works closely with members of the departmental team.

Education and Experience :

• 0 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical microbiology.
• BS degree in Microbiology or other life science from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient in the use of computer word processing, spreadsheet management, and data graphics programs.
• Ability to qualify Class 100 gowning and maintain a qualified status.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self motivation.
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal English communication skills.
• Ability to read and accurately follow the instructions of standard operating procedures.
• Ability to effectively utilize scientific information resources

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop.

Close vision and the need to focus on computer screen, use of hands, fingers and wrist to type on keyboard and manipulate mouse.

Will need to lift and move boxes of paper and binders weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment :

Typical office setting with a laboratory and cubicles. Employee is required to work in the lab area. Noise level is moderate with consistent printer, telephone ringing and conversation.

The base pay range for this role in California is $21.15 per hour to $29.09 per hour. This role is classified as non-exempt and eligible for over-time.

The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to : geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.
