The Senior Mechanical Engineer will leverage their expertise in product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to fulfill and exceed customer requirements.
This role involves enhancing the performance and design of existing products, overseeing production, and managing the shipping of final products.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also be expected to share their knowledge and expertise with junior level engineers through mentorship and training.
Additionally, they will support sales efforts through accurate quoting and providing technical expertise to customers. #ZR

What You Will Do :
- Design & Modify : Create and enhance product designs for manufacturability and customer satisfaction.
- Support Sales : Provide technical expertise during the quoting process and customer interactions.
- Project Management : Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
- Technical Communication : Engage with customers and vendors to resolve issues and optimize solutions.
- Failure Analysis : Conduct analyses and implement solutions to improve product performance.
- Customer engagement : Customer visits as needed to provide support and problem solving at their facility.
Requirements :
Competencies and Attributes Needed :
- Educational Background : BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in engineering within a steel or nickel alloy manufacturing environment; experience with ASME or AWS codes is a plus.
- Technical Skills : Proficient in ERP software, Microsoft Office, and 3D Modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Experience in designing products and / or product improvements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing practices such as forming, welding, and cutting.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to address complex issues.
- Detail-Oriented : Keen attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management : Experience with project management principles and application.
- Continuous Improvement : Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement practices.
- Root Cause and Corrective Action training preferred.
