Special Education Teacher/Consultant or Coordinator

Position Details

Description of Duties The Special Education Teacher evaluates students and conducts Multi Evaluation Team and Individualized Education Plan meetings.

The Special Education Teacher also provides direct and indirect services to students with Individualized Education Plans, including supporting the classroom teacher’s instructional efforts.

Additional Stipend for Compliance Coordination services.

Requirements :

• Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education (LD)
• Possess a Michigan Certificate in Special Education / Teacher Consultant Credentials
• Demonstrate ability to support students with a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles

• Experience consulting with general education teachers regarding program adaptations and modifications for students
• Knowledge of / experience with special education due process procedures, writing of individual education plans and data collection
• Demonstrate effective case management including coordination with parents, teaching staff, and service providers
