Primary Responsibilities :
- Supports and works closely with production and sales teams on day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient processing of customized products through the entire process.
- Investigate and implement improved processes with a strong focus on the integration of leading-edge manufacturing technologies including automation, robotics, and sensors.
- Analyze and resolve production related issues and set up methods of prevention for future occurrences through application of rigorous engineering principles, rooted in Lean Six Sigma best practices
- Work with a quality assurance mindset to organize equipment calibration, maintain ISO documentation, ensure quality specification adherence, and work with the maintenance department to develop preventive maintenance procedures for critical-to-process equipment.
- Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operating personnel.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing principles through PF / CNX / DMAIC / SOP / KPI / 5S / SPC / Cpk and other tools within the LSS toolbox.
Initiatives will include the implementation of process monitoring tools, day-to-day metrics (KPI’s), ensuring Master Set up Sheets (MSS) are up to date, performing layered process audits to ensure MSS’s are followed, working with engineering team to execute testing, and communicate up the chain of command where extra focus / help is needed for short term issues.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Glass Engineering from an accredited engineering school
- Entry-level (0-3 years) positions and mid-level (3-5 years) positions available
- A complete understanding of quality management systems and tools and lean manufacturing concepts and applications; Green belt or higher preferred but not required in Lean Six Sigma
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems; demonstrated ability to learn new software and technology quickly
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
- Basic CMM and AutoCAD skills
