Pay Range : $50,000 - $60,000 per year
Summary :
The Dining Services Manager is responsible for managing all activities of the food service department and its resources in accordance with facility policies and procedures, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements.
The Dining Services Manager is responsible for the delivery of high quality dining services and for maintaining the dining services department in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Communicates and promotes Pyramid Healthcare’s core values and mission.
- Plans, directs, coordinates and controls the resources of the food service department.
- Oversees and participates in the preparation of the production, cooking, portioning and serving of meals, per standardized menus and recipes.
- Develops and executes strategies to achieve department and organizational goals.
- Communicates goals and objectives to the dining services employees and takes the initiative to support the team in achieving success.
- Monitors and analyzes the performance of the department through analysis of data and trends.
- Creates and implements standardized work in the department that maintains operational efficiency and service quality standards.
- Recruit, hire, train, counsel, schedule and manage the dining services staff.
- Completes employee performance reviews.
- Regularly assesses the department’s compliance with regulations and accepted standards of quality.
- Participates in and leads continuous improvement initiatives and programs in the department and facility.
- Utilizes problem solving skills focused on improving the employee and client experience.
- Completes and submits a monthly dining department operations report and other reporting as requested.
- Positively influences the experience, motivation and performance of the dining services team.
- Communicates effectively staff expectations and take action to promote accountability.
- Completes employee rounding and takes action with information received to improve employee experience.
- Directs the development of employees through coaching and providing timely feedback on performance.
- Collaborates routinely with the dietitian to ensure that client needs are met and modified diets are served accurately.
- Schedules and participates in regularly schedule team meetings and in-service trainings.
- Manages purchasing, inventory and labor while monitoring costs and maintaining budgetary parameters.
- Responds to client and staff concerns professionally and promptly.
- Promptly reports and investigates workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses involving employees within the location.
- Collaborates and communicates with administration and other facility departments.
- Attends and participate in required meeting and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Day to day supervision of Dining Services team including but not limited to hiring, training.
Education, Licensure, & Experience
- An associate’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in food service management, culinary or related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years experience in food service operations including healthcare facilities, restaurants, schools or similar environment.
- Minimum 1 year previous food service supervisory experience preferred.
- SERV-Safe certified or willing to obtain certification upon acceptance of employment offer.

Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation.
Incumbent may be exposed to viruses, diseases, and / or infections from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
