Who You Are :
The Teacher works to support student progress by coordinating on lesson planning, sharing data, team teaching and providing information and materials to families.
Through excellent communication, organizational skills and great energy the General Education Teacher supports the academic and personal growth of our students, while making sure all students are successful and develop strong characters.
The Teacher makes sure the students understand the school wide expectations and policies while consistently asking the students to follow the outlined expectations for common areas within the school.
In addition Teacher supports staff in the scheduled arrival, mealtime and dismissal duties.
What You'll Do :
Plan lessons and manage classroom in an inspiring, rigorous and urgent way
Use State Standards as a guide for planning
Implement all approved curricular programs including but not limited to : enVision’s Math, TERC Investigations in Numbers, Data and Space, Social Studies, Science Kits
Design and teach Social Studies projects and inquiry projects
Contact families via telephone or face to face to inform on student’s progress and keep an updated log of the contact
Manage classroom communities as effective learning communities and follow school-wide common area expectations
Submit lessons plan on a weekly basis demonstrating a seamless connection to the Scope & Sequence
Plan, organize and replenish lesson plans for substitute teachers in case of emergency absence
Schedule planning time with Associate Teachers and provide them with copies of completed lesson plans for collaborative review and revision
Collaborate fully with grade level team teachers in planning, student supports, transitions and materials management
Provide students with a report card each quarter for performance and behavior in addition to quarterly progress reports
Work collaboratively with AIS and SPED specialist to support student progress by coordinating on lesson planning, sharing data, team teaching and providing information and material
Attend Child Study Team (CST) meetings in order to create a comprehensive RtI plan and participate in a productive and positive way to identify interventions for students both, academically and developmentally
Meet all test and data reporting deadlines
Maintain anecdotal and formal evaluative records (checklists, anecdotal notes, quiz / test, etc.)
Participate actively in weekly grade level team planning meeting by planning units of study and weekly lessons collaboratively with team teacher(s), specialist and administrators
Attend all faculty meetings

What You Bring : Requirements
Requirements
Demonstrated success working in an urban school setting
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
At least one year and above experience
A Master’s degree in Education or relevant content area (preferred)
New York State Certification (preferred)
What We Offer :
Annual salary range : $64,789k- $95k depending on experience.
Effective 09 / 17 / 2023 NYC passed a Pay Transparency Law which requires NYC based hiring to include a compensation range on each job posting.
