Job Duration
Position averages 20 hours per week and is year-round. Schedule is Thursday Friday (8am-5pm) and then every other Wednesday (8am-5pm).
Summary of Work
- Primary duty involves answering the department’s main telephone lines, transfer calls, and answer basic hunting and fishing related questions.
- Read, interpret, or explain applicable laws, rules and regulations related to hunting and fishing.
- Provide a variety of information such as applications and educational materials to individuals who visit the Game and Fish Department.
- Provide excellent customer service to walk-in customers.
- Assist with general clerical duties.
- Use a computer (internet, email, Microsoft Word) in performance of duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma and one year of office support, clerical or secretarial work experience.
- Requires working knowledge of general entry-level clerical and administrative functions of an organization, including telephone systems, general office equipment and computers using Microsoft Office.
- Requires excellent communication skills, and a pleasant and positive attitude to consistently apply common courtesy in working with others.
- Requires a general knowledge of hunting and fishing.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to this position.
